ABOUT THE ARTIST
Hi, I'm Anne-Marie Shumate, M. Photog. CPP, the owner and photographer at Lasting Images Photography! I treasure the ability to create art from your life, capturing beautiful images to tell a piece of your story. As a certified professional photographer, I've studied with some of the finest instructors in the world, building upon a solid foundation of creativity, style and excellence. Since opening Lasting Images Photography in 2003, I've designed a studio experience with my clients' needs at the heart of it all. From your first phone call to the delivery and installation of your finished art pieces, we will work together to plan and create the images you've been envisioning.
I've loved art and photography since I was young. My father is a devoted travel photographer, and I spent hours looking at his scrapbooks and slides from a lifetime of world travels. When I was a teenager growing up in Prescott, my great aunt Naomi introduced me to fine art photography. She was a retired nursing school professor who started her second career as a fine art photographer at age 78 - proof that it's never too late to pursue your passion! After graduating from Yavapai College, I continued my art studies independently, finally opening my own studio over 15 years ago. I am currently pursuing my Master of Photography degree, and I continue to learn and grow through education and travel.
I'm married to my high school sweetheart, Jeff, and we have four grown kids. When I don't have a camera in my hand, I love to read, cook, hike, and spend time with my family and friends.
